10 Christian brothers who were severely beaten while distributing tracts in a village called Garag located in Dharwad, a district in the northern part of the Indian state of Karnataka. Mr.Francis.K called the Founder of Persecution Relief and informed about the same.

These brothers who serve with the Horeb Prayer Ministry had travelled in a Tata Magic vehicle to distribute tracts named ‘Forgiveness of Sin’. After starting early At approximately 8:30 am, they were almost winding up and getting ready to leave when 3 religious fanatics approached them on a motor bike and begun beating the Christians, hurling insults and accusing them of religious conversion.

Soon more than 20 religious fanatics arrived and joined the attack on the 10 helpless Christians. Bro. Phinehas & Bro. Joseph were severely beaten.

Speaking to Persecution Relief from the hospital, Bro.Joseph was in tears and overcome with sadness. He was in terrible pain mentioning that the fanatics had kicked him in sensitive areas of his body and physically assaulted others by hitting them on their heads, stomach and legs.

Later, they were all taken to Garag Police station while Bro. Joseph and Bro. Phinehas were taken to the local civil hospital and were admitted for quite a while as they had severe injuries.

Persecution Relief representative called the Supdt. of Police (SP), Mrs Katyal and she promised that she would immediately look into the matter. She also referred us to Inspector Shivanand who was on duty elsewhere. After listening to us he soon reached to the Garag police to investigate.

An activist by the name of Nehemiah also spoke to top police officials and by God’s grace, they were released by 8:30pm.

The Christian brothers filed an FIR, No.0144/2019. It is registered at Garag Police Station . The GSC No. is PwO0609190100194- Courtesy: Police Computer Wing.

Latter we came to know that religious fanatics have also filed a complaint against the Persecuted Christians under IPC 295A, 147, 143,149. Their vehicle has been held by the police and has not been released yet.

We request you to keep our dear brothers and their respective families in your prayers. From his word, God promises to be with us through and in the storm. He is our refuge. Believing his promises gives us his peace that surpasses all understanding. A peace that delivers us to his shore of victory.
