Assam: Christians Gather for Peace and Harmony in Udalguri

In the backdrop of all that is happening in Assam, especially the passing of the controversial Assam Healing (Prevention of Evil) Practices Bill, 2024 and the attack on Christian institutions by certain elements in society just before the ensuing General Elections 2024, the Christian Coordination Committee, Udalguri District organized a mass gathering for peace and harmony for the nation on March 14, 2024, at the Udalguri Nalbari Play Ground. The event aimed to unite people from diverse backgrounds under the common goal of fostering peace and harmony.

Over 25,000 individuals representing various Christian denominations including Baptist, NELC, Roman Catholic, BELC, CNI, and more. Notably, the gathering comprisesed people from different ethnic, linguistic communities of Assam such as Boro, Adivasi (commonly known as Tea Tribes), Santhal, Garos, Rabhas, Nepalis, and the Assamese. People from all corners of the district, from Atterikhat TE to Mazbat TE and from Bhairabkunda in the north to Kalaigaon in the South
