Kerala MPs give notice in Lok Sabha for urgent resolution over arrest of Malayali nuns in Chhattisgarh

MP Hibi Eden and Benny Behannan have given notice in Lok Sabha for an urgent resolution over the arrest of Malayali nuns on charges of religious conversion in Chhattisgarh. MP K Sudhakaran has also given notice for an urgent resolution demanding that the assembly be adjourned and the nun's arrest discussed.
Two nuns were arrested on Friday on a complaint filed by Bajrang Dal activists alleging forced religious conversion. Meanwhile, more footage has emerged revealing that violence against missionary workers is a daily occurrence in Chhattisgarh. Footage has also emerged of extreme Hindu organization leader Jyoti Sharma beating missionary workers in front of the police. There are also allegations that the police informed the court that Jyoti Sharma, the accused in the case, is absconding.
It is also alleged that the Malayali nuns were arrested due to pressure from Bajrang Dal activists. Footage of Jyoti Sharma questioning and beating the Malayali nuns in front of the police was released yesterday. The nuns' colleague had said yesterday that the nuns were arrested under the leadership of Jyoti Sharma. The church leadership will file an application in the court today, demanding bail for the Malayali nuns arrested in Chhattisgarh. The application will be filed in the court in Durg.
