Pastor Dr. Valsan Abraham (74), the General President of the India Pentecostal Church of God (IPC) and a senior minister, has passed away on the evening of Wednesday, November 4 in the United States. He had been undergoing treatment for cancer.
He was the grandson of Pastor K.E. Abraham—one of the founding leaders of the IPC—and the son of Pastor T.S. Abraham and Mary Abraham.
As the founder and president of 'India Gospel Outreach,' he also served as the president of the India Bible College and Seminary. Since 1984, he spearheaded the establishment of churches across India, as well as the training of missionaries and church leaders.
He served as the General Secretary of the IPC from 2006 to 2013 and assumed the role of General President in 2019. He was the founder and senior pastor of the India Christian Assembly in California, USA. In 1982, he—along with his wife, Lali Abraham—initiated prayer fellowships in Southern California.
He was an accomplished preacher and organizer. Through his sermons at the Kumbanad Conventions and his English-language ministry, he exerted a profound influence on an entire generation.
