Two pastors : 7000 days in Eritrean prison
7000 days passed after the two pastors arrested and jailed in Eritrean prison. In the East African nation of Eritrea, there are hundreds of believers and servants of God who have been tormented for years in dark prisons for worshiping the Lord and working for the KIngdom of Lord.
19 years ago, two Eritrean pastors, Kiflu Gebremeskel and Haile Nysgi, were arrested and are still in prison. In the early morning hours of May 23, 2004, Pastor Hailey Knigge and Dr. Kiflu Gebremeskele was arrested and taken away from their homes.
Last Saturday, 22nd July, 2023 in spite of our dark experiences in the prison, they testifies that, they specially remembered their 7000 days in the presence of the ever-glorious Lord Jesus Christ in that prison.
Todd Nettle, editor of the leading Christian media The Voice of the Martyrs USA shared this information. In 2004, he came across Christians being persecuted in Eritrea. After that he got to see and meet many pastors and believers.
Special visits were also given to those in Eritrean prisons. In the country, only Orthodox, Catholic, Lutheran churches were allowed, and other well-known Pentecostal churches did not have freedom of worship.
Because of this, the places of worship were closed, but people were conducting congregations in homes and other secret centers.
The Eritrean police are conducting raids and taking the believers and the pastors into custody. Ship containers were made temporary prisons and imprisoned in jails without even conducting trial.
It is reported that there are about 400 people who have been tortured in dark prisons for many years. Pray specially for the salvation of the Gods.
