Christians Attacked and Bible Torn in Church Attack in Delhi During Sunday Service
On Sunday (August 20) at Zion Prayer House, an independent Protestant group, in Tahirpur area of East Delhi, a group of people was armed with swords and sticks, and that they also tore up Bibles.
Five Christians were injured when a hardline Hindu group disrupted a Sunday service in India’s national capital New Delhi. Bibles were torned, furnitures and music instruments were destroyed.
Many people in the Christian community have beaten by them with sticks. Women were also attacked and injured. Three women, who did not wish to reveal their identity, complained that they were beaten up by a group of men and their members tried to strip them of their clothes.
"Every Sunday, when we gather at church to pray, we do it out of fear—the fear of being attacked," said a believer who didn't want to reveal his name.
After the attack, christian people were reached the police station to file a complaint, but the FIR has not been registered on this issue, since this morning the community is trying to file it.
Pastor Satpal Bhati has been running this house church for the last 13 years.
