The founder of the New India Church of God and a brave evangelical warrior Rev. VA Thambi (81) in passed away

The founder and president of the New India Church of God, Pastor V. A. Thampy was finished his journey in the earth and promoted to glory. He died in hospital due to brain haemorrhage. He was born in 1941 as the son of Kurichi Neelamperur Venat Abraham. He is a powerful evangelist and blessed preacher who was led to the Pentecostal experience from the Canaanite community. Many churches were formed as a result of his efforts to overcome many difficulties and completely come down for evangelization.

In 1976, the New India Church of God was founded by him. Today it has grown into a movement with more than 2350 local churches and many other educational and pastoral institutions in India.
The New India church of God headed by  Pastor V.A Thampy has 6 English medium schools and an engineering college named Bathestha Institute – of Technology & Science in Gwalior. Also 12 orphanages and seven mobile teams are part of the Church's activities.

He is a member of the Central Committee of PCI, the joint forum of Pentecostal Churches in India. His wife Mariamma Thampy is a evangelist,  lecturer and TV presenter.

Children: Biju Thampy (Vice President of New India Church of God), Bini Thampy, Beena Thampy, Binu Thampy (Mission Director, New India Church of God, Kolkata). and are involved in the author's ministry at various levels.

 Nephews: Sekunda Biju, Shibu Zakaria, Martin Philip and Deana Binu.
