The bail application of the nuns arrested in Chhattisgarh on charges of religious conversion and human trafficking will be filed in the High Court today. The Chhattisgarh government has given an assurance from Union Home Minister Amit Shah that they will not oppose the bail application.
It is hoped that the nuns will be able to go out today if they get bail. The bail application will be filed in the Chhattisgarh High Court in Bilaspur. The bail application will be filed as soon as the court starts functioning. The Durg Sessions Court had directed them to approach the NIA court since there is a human trafficking case.
The Christian priests, who assessed that approaching the NIA court would complicate the issue, decided to approach the High Court for bail. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that the Chhattisgarh government will not oppose the bail application
