Chennai International Convention Conclusion: “True Rest Is in God’s Love” — Chief Pastor Abraham Mathew

The Pentecost Mission Chief Pastor Abraham Mathew stated that true peace and rest are found in God’s intense love for man. He was speaking at the joint worship service on the closing day of the international convention held at the Irumpalliyur Convention Ground near Tambaram, Chennai.

He explained that God loves constantly, regardless of human shortcomings, and it is in the shade of that love that man finds ultimate peace. The joint worship service began with a prayer by Pastor M. T. Thomas. Mission workers sang songs in various languages.

Pastor S. Abraham (Adyar) spoke at the special healing service held in the evening. Praise worship, Bible classes, general meetings, revival meetings, youth gatherings, gospel sermons, testimonies and baptism services were held in connection with the convention.

Deputy Chief Pastor M. T. Thomas, Associate Deputy Chief Pastor G. Jayam, Pastor S. Rajendran (Malaysia), and Pastor P. Mathew John (U.S.) delivered sermons on various days. The sermons were translated into various regional languages ​​in real time.

New ministers were elected at the annual general body meeting held on March 16. While 20 were elected as brothers and 55 as sisters, 37 were promoted as pastors. More than one lakh believers from various states of India including Kerala and foreign countries attended the convention.

“Eternal solution to sorrows in Christ” — S. Rajendran

Pastor S. Rajendran (Malaysia), who spoke on the opening day of the convention, explained that there is an eternal solution to man’s temporary and eternal sorrows in Christ.

Spiritual Perfection through God’s Grace: P. Mathew John

Pastor P. Matthew John (U.S.) called for spiritual perfection through faith.

“Jesus Christ for an Abundant Life” — G. Jayam

During the third day of the conference, Associate Deputy Chief Pastor G. Jayam stated that Jesus Christ came to earth to save people from sins and give them spiritual prosperity. He said that believers should follow the path of Christ and lead the world to spiritual vitality.

Do not give up spiritual life: M. T. Thomas

Deputy Chief Pastor M. T. Thomas, who spoke at the fourth day of the convention, called on believers not to give up their spiritual lifestyle for material gains. He said that a life of godliness is the foundation of Christians, and material gains will come naturally with it.

Various spiritual programs were held from dawn to night during the convention days. Believers actively participated in praise worship, Bible classes, public meetings, waiting meetings, youth gatherings, musical services, gospel sermons, and healing services.

The Tamil Nadu government also arranged special transportation facilities. A 24-hour fasting and prayer service was held during the convention period. Special spiritual programs were also organized for children.
